Born and raised in England, Bernard has been helping people to buy and sell home here since 2001 following a career covering international recruitment and relocation, sales and marketing in technology related businesses.

Bernard and his daughter, Michelle Hensley have over 40 years combined experience of helping home buyers and sellers in the East Bay. Both have been recognized as among the top 10% of Rockcliff agents for many years.
We both work with buyers and sellers, sometimes individually and sometimes as a team. Regardless, we are always familiar with each others business and as a result we are able to cover for each other whenever the need arises.
Bernard’s wife, Michelle’s mom, Sylvia, is also a licensed Realtor and she wears a multitude of hats, providing them with much-needed support in their transactions. The sale and purchase of Real Estate in California is now such that it is virtually impossible for a sole practitioner to provide the advice, support and service needed to ensure buyers and sellers have a minimum amount of stress and that transactions close on time.
Originally from England all three have lived in the East Bay for many years. Michelle moved here after working as a nurse in the Royal Air Force, while Bernard and Sylvia followed a number of years later, when Bernard was offered the opportunity to take up a leadership position in an international IT consulting firm.
The fourth member of our team is Denise Lema, our transaction manager. Denise liaises closely with our clients from the point at which a sale or purchase is agreed right up until the successful close of escrow and recording of the transfer of ownership. She ensures that every one of the myriad documents required in today’s real estate transactions is completed in a timely fashion and that nothing is missed.
