Schools will be a subject that will be top of mind for many families moving in to the area and although none of the Blackhawk schools are within any of the various neighborhoods, schools for all ages are close by, and as part of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, they are universally acclaimed.

While which of the Blackhawk schools your children will attend can’t be guaranteed 100% (as they are sometimes impacted by demand), a call to the School District will generally answer that question quickly. The schools that normally service the Blackhawk neighborhoods are as follows.

Tassajara Hills Elementary School

Located close to Blackhawk Country Club’s east gate, on Camino Tassajara, Tassajara Hills is an excellent school with around 650 students in grades K-5. Their standards are high and their students achieve excellent grades as does the school itself with one of the highest scores in the school district.

Diablo Vista Middle School

Diablo Vista Middle School was established in 2000, and is located on Camino Tassajara, mid-way between Tassajara Hills Elementary School and Blackhawk Plaza. The school houses 670 students (6th – 8th grade) and their campus includes a computer lab, a video production studio, five fully equipped science labs, choral and instrumental music classrooms, an art lab, and a home economics lab. They also have a fifteen-acre field that provides a state-of-the-art all-weather track and field, a full-size baseball field and a full-size softball field.

Monte Vista High School

Monte Vista High School is located on Stone Valley Road, close to the border with Alamo. Home of the Mustangs, this National Blue Ribbon School of over 2,000 students has been operative for over 45 years. Like the other Blackhawk schools mentioned above, It has consistently high scores with a GreatSchools.net one of 10 out of 10.
